MPI has a requirement for Aircraft Mechanical Instructors based in Cosford, Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
Position Details
Immediate start subject to Security Clearance.
In Scope of IR35.
Rate of pay: In Scope Umbrella £37.68/hour / £32.94/hour PSC / £27.50/hour PAYE.
Role Overview
The Mechanical Training Flight (MTF) provides technical training to RAF and IDT Personnel at DSAE Cosford. This role involves delivering instructional training typically conducted by a D Grade SIO, focusing on Phase 2 & 3 career courses, including courses such as ATFTM CN1237, ATFT Av 1238, A Tech Mech CN1235, Weapons 1242, and their international equivalents, along with new 1240 courses.
Qualifications
* Ordinary National Certificate, BTEC, SCOTVEC in the relevant subject.
* Practical experience in the trade or specialism, compliant with MOD SIO PG MPD standards.
Responsibilities
* Deliver classroom and practical instruction within the aircraft discipline and related subjects.
* Prepare lessons and develop training support materials.
* Supervise students, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
* Identify training needs and develop appropriate training materials.
* Monitor and review trainee progress, ensuring compliance with statutory training requirements.
* Evaluate and adapt training programs based on workplace changes.
* Research and incorporate new learning technologies and methodologies, including e-learning techniques.
Additional Notes
Teaching experience is desirable but not essential. Candidates with a strong airframe, propulsion, mechanical, or technician background will be considered for training as trainers.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Aircraft Training Manager and will participate in an on-site interview, including a 15-minute presentation or lesson.
