Career Opportunity: Project Design Manager

Due to increased workload, we are seeking a permanent Works Project Design Manager to join a dynamic, innovative, and engaged team, managing the increased Design & Build workload from key clients such as the Environment Agency, National Highways, Local Authorities, and private clients.
The successful candidate will ideally be based at our head office or a regional office, depending on convenience.
A standard week involves 40 hours with a hybrid model—2 days working from home. Travel to meetings with designers, clients, and sites will be required.
Main Duties include:
1. Managing a design phase team, including Consultants and/or specialist designers.
2. Leading meetings with clients, presenting, and discussing design ideas and solutions.
3. Preparing design documents, briefs, reports, and management plans.
4. Developing and managing design programmes.
5. Reviewing design documents for compliance and advising on buildability and value engineering.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in highways, structures, infrastructure, or flood alleviation works.
2. A civil engineering academic background with site experience.
3. Strong collaboration, communication, and team-building skills.
4. Proficiency with programming software.
5. Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
6. Understanding of design processes, standards, and specifications.
7. Soft management skills to motivate designers to deliver solutions on time and accurately.
