*Location:* Various Locations in East Midlands

*Contract Type: *Part-time / Permanent

*Reports to: *Regional Lead

*Role Overview*

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Pharmacy Services Team. This is an exciting new role within Speeds that will involve conducting comprehensive audits across private mental health hospitals, mental health social care sites, ophthalmology clinics, and others as needed.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving medicines management and compliance within our client settings.

*Key Responsibilities*

· Conduct Medicines Management Audits across designated sites, ensuring compliance with national and local standards.

· Review and perform STOMP audits to support reduction of inappropriate psychotropic prescribing.

· Review and assess medicines storage, administration, and documentation.

· Provide expert advice on medicines administration and handling.

· Deliver training sessions for clients on medicines management best practices.

· Prepare detailed audit reports and recommend corrective actions where necessary via our internal auditing system.

· Support the development and monitoring of action plans to address identified issues

· Collaborate with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines governance across the team.

· Escalate high risk findings promptly in line with procedures

· Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in line with regulatory requirements.

· Adhere to professional responsibilities in line with GPhC expectations for pharmacy technicians

*Essential Requirements*

· GPhC registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a pharmacy technician role, ideally with exposure to governance or audit work.

· Strong knowledge of medicines management principles and social care settings.

· Excellent communication and training skills and experience engaging with both clinical and non-clinical staff.

· Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

· Competent in using digital tools for reporting and virtual meetings.

· Full, clean UK driving license with willingness to travel occasionally to other regions to support the service.

*Desirable*

· Experience in mental health services or ophthalmology.

· Previous involvement in STOMP initiatives.

· Understanding of regulatory authority standards and frameworks.

· Knowledge of healthcare systems and regulatory requirements in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
