We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Test Engineer to join a small, collaborative team that bridges engineering and production.
The role involves working on complex electronic products and systems designed for rugged and demanding environments. You will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and debugging assemblies, often down to component level, ensuring reliable performance and continuous improvement of testing processes.
Working closely with both design and production teams, you’ll provide technical support, troubleshoot challenging issues, and help refine test procedures and documentation. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining and developing the team’s test capabilities, ensuring equipment is well-managed and processes are optimised for efficiency and quality.
This company designs and manufactures key technology that is used in high-tech engineering industries worldwide. To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong electronics background with proven fault-finding and debugging skills at the component level. Experience with single-board computers, processors, or networking and switching hardware will be an advantage. You’ll also need to be an effective communicator, comfortable liaising with engineers and operators at all levels of the business.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, technically curious, and happy to work flexibly - the focus is on delivering results rather than strict working hours. The company is open to an academic background; practical experience and technical ability are what matter most. Manufacturing experience is not essential.
This role requires:
A strong background in electronics
Hands-on experience with testing and fault-finding
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with others at all levels
A self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving ability
