The role At Southern Housing, we are seeking a Programme Manager for Fire Remediation to join our Building Safety Directorate. Reporting to the Head of Building Safety Delivery, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing a portfolio of fire remediation projects across our housing stock. Leading a multidisciplinary team and working closely with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that all works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality. This role involves managing substantial budgets and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with fire safety legislation, building codes, and internal governance frameworks. The Programme Manager will be expected to provide strategic direction while also being hands-on in the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that residents are kept informed and supported throughout the remediation process, with a strong emphasis on empathy and clear communication. This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our residents by ensuring their homes are safe, secure, and compliant. This role is based at our head office in Farringdon, with the option to work in a hybrid manner. Some visits to sites and other offices might be needed based on the locations part of the programme's scope. What You'll Need: Degree and professional qualification in building, construction, maintenance, or surveying services, plus a relevant fire safety or fire practice accreditation Membership of a recognised institution such as RIBA, RICS, CIOB, IFE, or equivalent Proven track record managing large-scale building refurbishment programmes, especially high-rise or complex properties In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, building codes, and CDM 2015 regulations Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, including cost consultancy and cost control Effective leadership and management experience of leading successful team In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of the above six criteria providing real examples.
