About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newcastle. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils across a range of abilities and may be required to provide 1:1 support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum
* Provide classroom assistance to promote positive learning experiences
* Deliver targeted 1:1 support for pupils when required
* Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a safe learning environment
* Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
* Good understanding of the UK curriculum
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND
* Experience delivering 1:1 interventions or support
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
