The Electoral Services team is made up of an Electoral Services Manager, two Electoral Services Officers and two Electoral Services Assistants. We have recently undertaken a restructure within the team due to the new electoral laws being implemented which has changed the way the electoral processes work for both electoral registration and running elections. If you have an interest in event coordination, administration or local democracy then this role could be for you. Please note this is not a political role, the successful candidate will be expected to be politically impartial. What we are looking for We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and creative individual to join the Electoral Services team. The successful candidate will bring organisation and creative thinking to the team. They will play an important role in supporting the Electoral Services Officers, undertaking the day to day registration processes, being a team player during the organisation of elections locally and having a creative mindset to share ideas on current and future projects. It is essential that the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills. They will require good level of computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel. They will require the ability to work under pressure during the busy election periods with the adaptability to manage changing and conflicting demands. The successful candidate will also require the ability to work under their own initiative when prioritising their workload to meet statutory deadlines. Main responsibilities To support the administration of electoral registration and the running of all types of elections using the software Xpress. This involves supporting mini projects to meet the new law requirements that are in place or coming into effect in the near future. Have sole responsibility of managing the booking of polling stations and making sure the relevant equipment is allocated to the correct polling station. To support the Electoral Services Manager in raising requisitions, purchase orders and paying invoices using CIAnywhere finance system. To visit all Residential and Care Establishments in Warwick District, building relationships and regular communication with management to make sure all residents are registered on the electoral register. Keep an up to date registration of Single Responsible Persons for HMOs (Houses of Multiple Occupancies) This role is on a fixed term contract for two years with potential to be reviewed after. The successful applicant will be required to work 37 hours per week Monday - Friday with additional hours and some weekend/evening work during the election period.
