Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Clinical Lead, you will:
* Lead clinical governance: Oversee quality assurance, clinical audits, and patient safety.
* Drive service development: Take charge of enhancing our service offerings.
* Advise on policy: Guide the development and implementation of effective policies.
* Champion research and innovation: Develop new clinical guidance and service protocols.
* Collaborate nationally: Work with colleagues to optimize patient care.
* Provide supervision and training: Mentor clinical colleagues and teach students from various disciplines.
In addition, you will:
* Treat complex cases: Provide expert advice on diagnosis, assessment, and care planning.
* Accept referrals: Manage patients with severe or complex needs.
* Oversee psychosocial support: Utilize your comprehensive knowledge of research evidence.
* Introduce innovative interventions: Enhance outcomes and service quality.
* Undertake complex prescribing: Manage treatments like injectable opioid substitution.
* Provide liaison services: Collaborate with acute medical and psychiatric settings.
* Engage with stakeholders: Work with HM Coroners courts, probation services, and more.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We are looking for an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist, GP Specialist, or a qualified Specialty Doctor to step into this leadership role. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills are essential for driving service delivery and development.
To qualify, you should:
* Be listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction, or
* Have equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC (CESR), or
* Be on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate qualifications, or
* Meet the criteria for a specialty doctor in Addictions with relevant experience.
