Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Chartwells Universities & Colleges Proposition, driving profitable revenue growth through participation and MAP2 growth, supporting sales and retention pipelines.
The role involves creating measurable activation plans to increase sales, ATV, and profits, focusing on categories like lunch, hot beverages, and food to go by increasing participation, spend, and frequency via apps, kiosks, and tills.
The Marketing Manager will collaborate with stakeholders, communicate priorities, and base activities on market and internal insights, aligning with internal protocols and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create and communicate annual marketing plans for colleges and universities
* Develop engaging promotional materials with third-party agencies and in-house tools
* Manage third-party creative agencies
* Prepare operational briefs for new offers and campaigns
* Create marketing assets using Canva for digital and print
* Build and manage the marketing budget
* Secure sponsorships to fund marketing activities
* Approve promotional business cases from Foodbuy MAP2 team
Food Development:
* Determine the Annual Food Development Plan with the Executive Development Chef, based on consumer insights
Insight:
* Gather and utilize marketplace, consumer, and operator insights for marketing and food offerings
Brand Standards:
* Maintain brand standards across all Chartwells brands
* Ensure templates and visual designs are consistent with brand guidelines
* Approve outlet visuals and branded items
* Support SOP development for sales-optimized spaces and merchandising
* Update and optimize content on the Real Life Tech side of the Uni Food Hub
* Support development of the Uni Food Hub and Time2Eat app
Student Engagement & Community Marketing:
* Support the Student Engagement Manager Community with training and advice
* Brief the team on marketing campaigns
* Manage the Senior Student Engagement & Marketing Manager for key projects
* Support asset creation, content sharing, and sales support activities
