As an Instructor you will provide a professional teaching and assessing capability to support learning and development, predominantly focussed in delivery of Defence Fire and Rescue training but also with some responsibility across the range of FSC courses, fire & rescue service qualifications and wider private sector training. Job title: DFRP Training Instructor/ Assessor Job Description: What you’ll be doing: Delivering fire and rescue training to both professional and non-professional personnel in a variety of subjects eg Breathing Apparatus, Road Traffic Collision Fire Safety etc Training may be delivered on site at Moreton in Marsh or at other Defence Fire Stations throughout the UK Ensuring all training aligns with the Fire Service College (FSC) course schedule. Assessing other FSC Trainers Follow Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) standards. Meeting Defence Trainer Capability (DTC) requirements and complying with guidelines set out in JSP 822. Maintain high standards of instruction and course delivery. What we’re looking for: Essential: Previous experience as a Firefighter with both structural and ARFF qualifications and experience (Must at least have been/be a Watch Manager (Station Manager preferred), having successfully completed an accredited ICL2 or a military FT 2 course (FT 3 preferred) and ideally having had operational experience in this role. Hold at least a level 3 qualification in teaching and learning ideally having a DCTS DTTT (Phase 1 and 2) qualification and be a DTCF Practitioner (Level 2). Full clean driving license with the ability to travel Desirable: Experience of delivering training in a Phase 1 or Phase 2 military training establishment would be highly desirable Ideally be a DTS Level 2 Practitioner or if not, have a commitment to complete DTS and associated WTS within 6 months of recruitment Be competent in the use of digital resources such as Microsoft Office products.
