Position: Junior Product Developer – JD Own Brand
Location: Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, Bury, Lancs BL9 8RR • Hours: 40 per week
Role Overview: The purpose of this job is to support the Product Developer & Senior Product Developer with the development of JD Own Brand product. Taking responsibility for specific areas under close supervision, the successful candidate will have relevant qualifications, experience and a passion for our product.
Responsibilities
* Issuing packs/comments and supplier communications throughout the process
* Setting up basic size charts, maintaining and updating the block library within the team
* Interpreting fit meeting notes
* Creating basic BOMs
* Completing test report approvals/ITS online, chasing suppliers and managing approvals
* Understanding a test matrix and training with PD on its creation
* Creating Care Label Templates
* Monitoring the critical path
* Supporting packing list & invoice queries
* Understanding sales analysis
* Taking on areas of responsibility for specific ranges under the guidance of PD & SPD as appropriate
* Managing day‑to‑day incoming/outgoing samples, ensuring correct documentation is attached
* Maintaining style details and information on relevant systems
* Assisting in the creation of tech packs and costings on the PLM system
* Approving lab‑dips and strike‑offs, referring issues to the design and buying team
* Participating in fit sessions and adding fit comments to the PLM system
* Measuring samples and providing comments
* Maintaining the critical path on the PLM system, chasing relevant information from suppliers and reporting issues
* Assisting with costing, negotiation and raising orders on the PLM system
Qualifications & Skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is essential
* JD retail experience is highly desirable
* Basic Illustrator knowledge is an advantage
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications/experience incorporating Clothing Technology and Product Development
