We are seeking a full time Year 1 Teacher to cover for Maternity leave from January 26 to December 26. This is a full time, main pay scale position.

Salary type: MPS

About the role

Teaching and Learning
• To deliver high quality teaching and learning to all pupils
• Plan and assess children’s learning using knowledge of school policies, schemes of work and National Curriculum requirements, and report their progress and achievement to the head teacher.
• Plan differentiated work to meet the needs of individuals and groups promoting progression, continuity and quality learning.
• Submit all plans and records for monitoring as and when required.
• Monitor and assess children’s work and use assessment to identify needs so inform future planning

Wide School Responsibilities
• Be able to lead a curriculum area
• Be a proactive member of a hardworking, supportive & effective team
• Communicating with parents of pupils
• Communication with other professional bodies
• Providing or contributing to oral and written assessment reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils
• Maintaining good order and discipline among pupils and safeguarding their health and safety
• Actively participating in Staff Meetings
• To maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school
• Making positive contributions to meetings which relate to the curriculum, administration, organisation or pastoral arrangements of the school, as part of the timetabled school day or during directed time

Take part in a range of development opportunities, including INSET, for your own professional development and that of others in order that you can contribute effectively to school improvement

About you

The school is seeking to appoint a person with the following attributes:

Qualifications / Training / Experience.

• Qualified teacher status
• Relevant training or experience within the primary age range
• Relevant qualifications, training or experience in the National Curriculum

Professional Knowledge and Skills

• A secure knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and primary strategy.
• The ability to plan effectively.
• High expectations of pupils’ work and behaviour.
• Good classroom organisation and management.
• Possess good teaching skills/techniques.
• An ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• A clear working knowledge of assessment for learning.
• Good IT skills and the ability to apply these to support teaching and learning.
• Able to work as part of a team in curriculum planning and evaluation.
