Job Description
German-Speaking Marketing Representative, Manchester, £27,000
* Are you fluent in German and keen to use your languages in your next role?
* Would you be interested in helping a business grow across Europe through a unique Marketing strategy?
* Would you love a job that involves spending a week of every month in Germany?
If so, then we'd love to hear from you!
About the role
They’re a global publishing company who produce free specialist magazines for the agricultural industry across Europe. This role is focused on ensuring the magazines are distributed in the right places (shops, petrol stations, service stations) and read by the right audiences across Europe.
The best way to see whether this is happening effectively is to be there! So you’ll be expected to travel roughly once a month and spend a week in your chosen territory – in this case Germany. You’ll visit every magazine distribution point and liaise with the proprietors to gain their feedback to ensure the magazines are being found and read by the people who need them.
With your own territory to manage, you’ll carry out in-depth market research and really understand your target audience so you can identify more distribution points for magazines to widen their reach. You’ll also gather customer insights and feed this back into the business after every trip.
You’ll also get involved in reader engagement, managing social media channels and creating email marketing campaigns. And you’ll be expected to plan and be involved in UK based Trade Shows when required.
Whilst this isn’t a sales role, you’ll be expected to build relationships with businesses and having meaningful conversations face to face and over the phone.
About you
You MUST be FLUENT in both English and German. If you speak Dutch too, then that's ideal.
Maybe you’re a recent languages Graduate or you originate from one of the countries in question?
Whilst there’s no specific experience needed, ideally, you’ll have a background in customer service, sales or marketing. Full training is provided though and you’ll be taught what you need to know to be successful.
You must be able to commit to travelling abroad a minimum of five days every month or a minimum of 60 days over a year. Trips usually run Sunday to Thursdays, so you’ll be flexible to work weekends when required too.
When you’re not travelling, you’ll be based full time in their central Manchester office where the hours are Monday – Friday 0800 – 1700.
You’ll be a self-starter and able to motivate yourself to work independently with the confidence to travel abroad and strike up conversations with customers. You’ll be comfortable travelling and working abroad alone.
You’ll have a full European Driving Licence and happy to drive abroad.
What’s on offer
* A competitive salary and travel bonus – the more days you work abroad, the more you’ll get paid.
* Mobile and laptop
* Career progression opportunities
