Sales Advisor - Events

The Riviera International Centre is a renowned destination in the South West, featuring extensive conferencing and event facilities, including a conference auditorium, arena/exhibition hall, and additional meeting and function rooms.
We seek a candidate with sales experience, preferably in events or hospitality (though not essential), to actively pursue new business, manage current inquiries, handle administrative tasks such as contract drafting, attend trade shows and networking events, and conduct venue tours. Success in this role requires a strong work ethic, a passion for the events industry and our venue, and a confident, engaging personality to put clients at ease.
Main Duties
1. Process conference and event inquiries received via website, email, phone, or walk-ins, with the goal of converting leads into confirmed bookings.
2. Collaborate with the Sales and Events Manager to develop existing business and create new opportunities.
3. Maintain accurate contact and inquiry data, update event details in the management system, and ensure follow-up communications.
4. Understand client needs, objectives, and budgets to create tailored event proposals and packages.
5. Support sales and marketing activities, which may include some weekend or off-site work, in coordination with the Sales and Events Manager.
6. Perform administrative tasks such as updating sales notes, drafting contracts and terms, providing room plans, sample menus, and other client information prior to confirmation.
The Person
* Experience in the events and/or hospitality industry is preferred.
* Friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude.
* Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
* Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
* Flexible, with occasional evening and weekend work for trade shows or networking events.
* Proficient in computer use.
* Motivated to excel in a challenging yet rewarding industry.
