Purpose of the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a warm, supportive team at a residential service for young people aged 717 with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. The role is central to ensuring each young persons physical, emotional, and social development is fully supported.

Key Responsibilities Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation and ensure compliance across the service (Childrens Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, etc.).
Be accountable to Ofsted and support the Registered Manager in meeting regulatory expectations.
Promote best practice in supporting young people with ASD, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge.
Support and supervise the residential teamhelping with recruitment, rotas, staff development, and training delivery.
Champion safeguarding, ensuring all concerns are escalated appropriately and promptly.
Contribute to high-quality care planning, placement matching, and ongoing care reviews.
Develop relationships with external stakeholders (families, social workers, education professionals, etc.).
Ensure the home is safe, nurturing, and well-maintained, and that the emotional and physical wellbeing of young people is prioritised.
Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager and take responsibility for leadership and decision-making as needed.

Ideal Candidate Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) essential
Level 5 (or working towards) desirable
Experience as a Deputy Manager or senior residential care worker
A strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and leadership in childrens homes
Flexible to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and occasional sleep-ins
