Stop Smoking Advisor - Walsall Digital Stop Smoking Service
Location: Walsall (Hybrid)
Contract: Part Time 20 Hours
Hours: 20 per week
Salary: £26,208 pro rata to £13,104 per annum
We are seeking a confident, approachable, and proactive individual to join our friendly Walsall Digital Stop Smoking Service team, part of the Commissioned Delivery Service for Walsall Borough Council. The role involves promoting the service in the community, managing referrals, and delivering face-to-face and virtual sessions across Walsall, among other responsibilities.

Main Duties
* Explain the principles of Stop Smoking to clients to enable informed decision-making
* Motivate and empower clients to change behaviors
* Deliver client-led treatment plans aligned with national and local guidelines, including CO monitoring, accurate data collection, and documentation of interventions
* Provide telephone and face-to-face support
* Prescribe and distribute Nicotine Replacement Therapy based on client needs
* Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes
* Maintain accurate records in the service’s database systems
* Develop and foster relationships with stakeholders and partners
* Attend team meetings and training to support personal development and stay updated on best practices
* Engage confidently with diverse individuals and groups
* Build partnerships with existing and new stakeholders
* Address healthcare inequalities by reaching vulnerable groups such as those recovering from addictions, young parents, and residents of deprived areas
* Manage workload and caseload effectively
* Deliver clinics and drop-in sessions supporting local communities
* Participate in promotional events, including weekend activities
* Collaborate with schools and colleges to address smoking among youth
* Assist in designing and delivering workshops, presentations, and educational sessions in various community settings

Person Specification
* Understanding of health inequalities in the local area
* Knowledge of the impact of smoking on health and current trends among youth
* Ability to tailor support to diverse cultural backgrounds
* Excellent rapport-building skills
* IT proficiency and data management experience
* Full Clean Driving Licence (no more than 3 points)
* Willingness to travel and transport equipment across Walsall
* Desirable: Certified NCSCT Smoking Cessation Practitioner
* Knowledge of behavior change models and techniques like motivational interviewing
* Familiarity with Walsall’s local area
