This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. This NHS lead position requires a motivated individual to provide high quality clinical psychology expertise and leadership across CMHTs in all sectors of Edinburgh and West Lothian, as well as the acute in-patient wards at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and St John's Hospital, West Lothian.
Responsibilities include operational management, including line management of psychology staff and financial elements and strategic leadership.
There is a need to provide leadership and strategic management within multi-professional teams, proposing and implementing policy and service development changes for the specialist psychological therapy service and acting as a highly specialist resource to the wider professional community within Lothian and nationally. The post holder will also hold clinical governance responsibility for the delivery of psychological therapies across CMHTs/Acute wards. There is also the need to utilise high level research skills for audit, policy and service development as a requirement of the job.
