GSL Education London Branch is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with special educational needs at secondary schools at Hackney. Join a friendly and supportive school team Help create a positive and inclusive learning experience Gain valuable experience working with SEN students Opportunities for long-term roles and career progression Work flexible days that suit your availability Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Support students with special educational needs in the classroom Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) Assist the teacher with classroom activities and behaviour management Provide 1:1 or small group support when required Encourage student independence and social interaction Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers Requirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role A kind, patient, and positive attitude Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff Understanding of different SEN needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
