Our client is an established practice operating across architecture, urban design and planning. Their collaborative, design-focused approach supports sustainable development for both public and private sector clients.
The Role
The appointed Senior Planner will take on a key position within a growing planning team, supporting projects from initial concept through to completion. The role involves managing an independent caseload while also contributing to larger, multi-disciplinary schemes in partnership with architects and urban designers.
The position offers regular interaction with clients, local authorities and consultants, alongside opportunities to develop leadership and commercial skills within a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications, appeals and associated consents
Conducting planning research, policy reviews and providing clear, professional advice
Drafting planning statements, appraisals, appeal documentation and community engagement materials
Coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams and liaising with local authorities and statutory bodies
Supporting public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities
Assisting with client relationship management, business development and marketing initiatives
Contributing to team development and sharing knowledge with colleaguesEssential Skills and Experience
Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant planning discipline
MRTPI qualification (or eligibility for full membership)
Minimum of five years’ professional experience in town planning
Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities with strong attention to detail
Experience working on significant and/or complex development projects
A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach
