An exciting opportunity for an Ecologist to work on a high-profile tidal dam project involving protected species such as water vole, reptiles, bats, and badgers, as well as supporting other projects as needed. The role involves providing specialist onsite ecological services across Kier divisions.

Location: Somerset, Gloucester, or Exeter – site-based 5 days a week
Contract: Permanent full-time with flexible hours available; discuss your preferences during your application
Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per year plus a £5.9k annual car allowance and private healthcare benefits
Responsibilities:
* Act as a technical advisor and lead on survey development, mitigation, and licensing, promoting nature-based solutions and innovation
* Support ecological service delivery on the tidal dam project and other sectors including road, rail, water, and property
* Serve as a point of contact for ecological matters onsite
* Manage construction risks related to ecology
* Provide onsite support to licensed ecologists as needed
* Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with CEMP, permits, licenses, and methodologies
Qualifications:
* Ecology degree or equivalent experience
* CIEEM membership or equivalent
* Experience in ecological clerk of works roles
* Good knowledge of UK nature conservation legislation and policy
* Full UK driving license
