We need to set out a roadmap to take some complex applications used in complex settings on the journey to the cloud. As Senior Solution Architect, you will manage a team of talented Solution Architects who will be key to defining how technology will enable this exciting journey. You will be working in a team of enterprise and technology architects, but with autonomy within your area of expertise to drive the changes needed to allow NHSBT to continue its strategy of leading the world in Blood and Organ donation, clinical testing, and research. Main duties of the job In this role you will be responsible for leading the solution architecture team across the whole of NHS Blood & Transplant. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring all new IT solutions design and communicate the high-level IT solution to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. Provide comprehensive guidance on the development of IT solutions to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, polices, standards and practices, and that existing solutions remain Responsible for the creation and implementation of the NHSBT architecture strategy and policy. It will require a deep understanding of NHSBTs business, strategic and operational change needs and the ability to convert these into well-defined and high-quality IT-supported change initiatives. Research new and emerging IT and how it can provide strategic improvements to NHSBTs business. This will involve working on major programmes and carrying out system research, developing proof of concepts, engaging with industry thought leaders and presenting ideas to TPB and the Exec The role will be integral to shaping NHSBTs future IT strategy accordingly. Together well save and improve more lives than ever Person Specification Qualifications • Educated to Masters level or equivalent demonstrable experience • TOGAF or equivalent experience • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD) Experience • Excellent awareness of the current state of technologies particularly those affecting the range of business requirements in NHSBT CRM, ERP, BPMS and Integration Technology Extensive experience of IT strategic planning and successful management of large-scale change. • Working knowledge of the principles associated with the development and introduction of new systems and processes and making change plans • Extensive experience of IT architecture development and solution design across applications, data and infrastructure. • Extensive experience of IT strategic planning and successful management of large-scale change. • Experience in procuring large scale contracts and management of external suppliers.
