Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Weymouth Town Council for a creative and organised Events Officer to join our team and help bring Weymouth’s events to life. Our Council serves a population of over 55,000 people. It has a range of services including Weymouth beach, promenade, parks, gardens, events, cemeteries, public toilets, and allotments.
Responsibilities
* Lead on planning and delivering our annual events programme, including writing and reviewing event plans, setting and reviewing objectives, and managing and co-ordinating logistics.
* Ensure all Council run events comply with the relevant legislation.
* Work closely with community groups, partners, and other councils to make events engaging for residents and visitors of all ages.
* Manage budgets and co-ordinate bookings, research ideas, and contribute to shaping what’s happening in Weymouth.
* Collaborate with the Resort Manager, Communications Team, and Sustainability Officer to ensure events are innovative and environmentally friendly by following the Council’s Green Events criteria.

You’ll be able to flex your time to meet the needs of the role using time off in lieu. The Council is open to discussions around compressed hours, term time hours, job shares, and other flexible patterns to support you.
