We have a vacancy for a Theatre Team Leader on our Anaesthetic Support service and we are looking for the right person to lead our highly motivated and professional Anaesthetic Practitioners.
Role Summary
The Clinical Team Leader will undertake clinical ongoing responsibility for the designated area in which they are allocated. They will provide managerial accountability in the absence of the Clinical Theatre Manager while under the supervision of the Head of Services. They will be responsible for high-quality, individualised care to patients and relatives as part of a multidisciplinary team. In addition to clinical duties, they will supervise and train junior staff to ensure a high-quality and cost-effective service.
The Clinical Team Leader will uphold and enhance the good standard and reputation of the trust.
Main duties of the job

* Supervise junior staff and participate in orientation, supervision and training of Registered and support staff
* Work with other disciplines and professions for the welfare of patients
* Maintain, update and develop personal and professional knowledge and skills using the trust’s Performance Review System

Clinical and Professional Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care utilising research findings as appropriate
* Ensure all care is provided in accordance with Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Policies
* Assist in the clinical preparation of peri-operative care of a patient as directed by the surgical and/or anaesthetic team
Team / Organisational
* May take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Theatre Manager, ensuring patient, visitors and staff safety
* Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite
* Review duty rotas and allocation as required; facilitate accurate data collection related to theatre activity
* Annual appraisal process with aims and development needs
* Demonstrate enhanced leadership and communication skills within the role

Person specification
Experience
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a UK-based Operating Theatre
* Experience of leading, motivating and supporting a team
* Experience of managing resources and delegating workload
* Clinical supervision training
Qualifications
* HCPC registered ODP or NMC registered Nurse with a university-awarded Postgraduate Anaesthetic Support module
* Recent Personal & Professional development
* ILS or equivalent certification
Skills, knowledge & competencies
* Ability to work as part of a team and project a positive image

* Listening and counselling; clinical/non-clinical decision making
