Arts Therapists (Art Psychotherapist And Drama Therapist) x 2
Post Details – An exciting opportunity for two Arts Therapists (Art and Drama) to join the redesigned Arts Therapies Service at The State Hospital. The Arts Therapies Service is part of the Allied Health Professions Department (AHP) and provides specialist arts psychotherapies to men and women with complex care and treatment needs in an NHS high‑secure hospital.
Salary & Benefits – AfC Band 6 (pro rata) plus a High Secure Environmental Allowance of £1,818.72 per annum (pro rata) and a High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance of £4,365.11 per annum (pro rata). Hours – 14.4 hours week for each post. Contract – Permanent.
Responsibilities
* Deliver group and I:I sessions, responding to identified patient needs.
* Provide arts-based therapeutic interventions focusing on emotional relatedness, risk management and recovery.
* Work autonomously with a defined caseload, utilising supervision and evidence-based practice.
* Support the Lead Arts Therapist on service development, clinical audits, research, and innovation within the ATs service and wider AHP department.
Experience & Qualifications
* Qualified and HCPC registered Arts Therapist (specifically Art Psychotherapy and Dramatherapy).
* Experience in mental health or learning disabilities and motivated to work in a forensic setting.
* Confidence in managing complex clinical situations and risk.
* Skill with tools and techniques of respective modality.
* Motivated, reflective, and passionate about person‑centred care.
* Team‑player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
