Residential Child Care Worker – Ford Family Trust. Join our team of dedicated professionals committed to supporting and empowering young people in residential care across Yorkshire, including Pontefract, Wakefield, Doncaster, Eggborough and Barnsley. This is a full‑time, permanent role with a base salary of £25,755.60 (Unqualified) to £26,303.16 (Qualified with Level 3 diploma or equivalent). With shifts, salary could reach up to £31,155.60 or £31,703.16. The position requires 39 hours per week, including sleep‑in duties and flexible weekend and bank holiday work.
Responsibilities
* Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of young people.
* Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with residents.
* Encourage the development of individual interests and skills.
* Provide participatory activities, ensuring each person feels at home.
* Support the team with flexible shift duties, including sleep‑in and weekend shifts.
* Work independently and proactively to support residents' wellbeing.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience supporting vulnerable young people is desirable; not essential.
* Commitment to working weekends and bank holidays.
* Ready to undertake sleep‑in duties on a flexible rota.
* Good interpersonal skills, positive team player.
* A passion for engaging, motivating and encouraging residents.
Training & Development
* Full training to gain a recognised Childcare Diploma Level 3 or Level 4 apprenticeship.
