Stewardship Lead – Human Rights

What you'll be doing:
As the Stewardship Lead for Human Rights at People’s Partnership, you will manage and support People’s Partnership human rights stewardship efforts through effective advocacy, stakeholder management, company engagements, and proxy voting.
●Own relevant human rights-related stewardship policies and their ongoing development in line with evolving best practice and oversee compliance with them, which includes but is not limited to a) developing and overseeing human rights-related voting and company engagement activities undertaken by external asset managers, internal and external reporting (e.g., TCFD, stewardship reports); b) supporting or carrying out collaborative engagement with investee companies on human rights themes as needed; c) working with investment team to align data collection approaches; and
●Represent People’s Partnership in stewardship networks and industry groups, actively participating in appropriate human rights stewardship initiatives
●Provide input and assist in preparing responses to internal and external requests for information regarding People’s Partnership human rights stewardship policies and approaches
●Assist with internal communication on human rights initiatives e.g. assist with training, written and verbal comms, internal presentations
●Delivering human rights stewardship content for internal and external publications
●Manage external relationships with our strategic partners on human rights themes
What we’re looking for:
●At least two years’ experience in human rights themes. This experience does not necessarily have to come from the financial services industry – we are also open to receiving applications from other sectors where this experience can be demonstrated from another perspective (e.g., supply chain or investor relations in the corporate world where human rights is an area of focus, NGOs with a human rights remit etc).
●Clear interest and passion for ESG and stewardship
●Ability to navigate an increasingly complex stewardship landscape
●Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with strength to influence and catalyse change through company/industry engagement
