What we arelooking for:
The successful candidate will have theability to work with young people and colleagues to deliver arange of activities at the youth club. You will need to behighly motivated, organised and have the skill to developactivities in a fun and safe environment that involves youngpeople at all levels. No experience is required at this stagehowever, the successful candidate will be required to completethe relevant youth work qualification within two years ofcommencing this role. When this qualification is achievedregistration with the Education Workforce Council will berequired.
The main dutiesof the post;
* Deliver projects and activities in linewith Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health and Welsh, which includesDoE and youth forums.
* Support young people to become involvedin the design, delivery and evaluation of services andactivities at the youth club.
* Ensure that local authority policies andprocedures are observed in respect to safeguarding, equalopportunities and health and safety.
* Inform the Worker in Charge of anyconcerns regarding grievances, complaints, incident and oraccidents or safeguarding issues.
* Complete all relevant youth clubpaperwork in accordance with the local authorities proceduresand policies.
* Attend three pre term meetings peryear
* Maintain up to date knowledge in thefield of Youth and Community Work through undertaking trainingincluding the three per term training events.
* Deliver projects and or activities whichbroaden horizons and promote community cohesion.
* Attend Employment Development Reviewsannually and identify training and development needs
You will haveexperience in/of;
Working with young people between the agesof 11 - 24 in a variety of settings
Ideally you willhave;
* Knowledge of the purposes and principlesof the youth work curriculum statement for Wales
* The relevant national youth workqualification required for registration with the EducationWorkforce Council (EWC)
* Registration with the EducationWorkforce Council (EWC) before employment commences ismandatory.
When this youth work qualification isachieved registration with the Education Workforce Council willbe required.
