Overview
As a band 6 on paediatrics, Ward 8, you will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the unit and will work closely with the ward manager. The role is both a clinical role and a leadership role and as such you will be responsible for staff appraisals, the completion of the off duty in line with Trust policy, liaising with the clinical educator regards training, managing sickness and absence and performance management.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate day-to-day operations of the paediatrics ward and liaise with the ward manager.
* Conduct staff appraisals and manage off-duty in line with Trust policy.
* Coordinate training with the clinical educator and oversee staff development.
* Manage sickness, absence and performance management for ward staff.
Team and Collaboration
* Work closely with multidisciplinary team including physios, pharmacists, play specialists, patient experience coordinators and the CAMHS team.
* Maintain links with the Paediatric Assessment Unit, children3s outpatients department and paediatric community services.

* Motivated paediatric nurses who are enthusiastic, experienced and passionate about delivering high quality care to the children of Preston and surrounding area.
* Superpowers include ability to prioritise, resilience, communication, teamwork and independence, time management, willingness to develop and maintaining high professional standards with an element of fun.
