MORECAMBE FC – First Team Goalkeeper Coach
We are seeking a passionate First Team Goalkeeping Coach to lead the development and performance of our first-team goalkeepers. The successful candidate will design and implement specialised training programs, provide matchday support, and collaborate closely with the managerial and coaching team to ensure optimal goalkeeper performance.
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for overseeing the Club goalkeepers, planning all training and match-day sessions for the First Team, working with management, analysts, and medical staff, and supporting the development of academy players in collaboration with the Academy staff.
Availability and travel will be required for attending all first team matches, including weekends and midweek fixtures.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver structured goalkeeping coaching, including pre-season training programs.
2. Conduct pre-match warm-ups and provide tactical insights during matches.
3. Develop individual performance plans for goalkeepers at all levels.
4. Support match day preparation and analysis with the First Team Analyst.
5. Assist in recruiting goalkeeping coaches for the academy.
6. Support the development and coaching of academy players as needed.
7. Provide personalised coaching and feedback to goalkeepers.
8. Ensure compliance with club policies, safeguarding, EDI, and prevent training requirements.
9. Maintain safety standards and communicate any concerns or injuries.
10. Demonstrate extensive player knowledge and apply it effectively in coaching and analysis.
11. Promote a positive team environment and culture.
About The Candidate
Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
* Hold or be working towards UEFA Goalkeeping A Licence, with at least FA Level 2 and B-License in coaching goalkeepers.
* Proven experience coaching at semi-professional or professional levels.
* Strong understanding of technical, tactical, and psychological aspects of goalkeeping.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Enthusiastic about football and youth development.
* Ability to mentor young athletes and work independently or as part of a team.
* Stay updated with latest coaching methodologies.
* Basic IT skills and a flexible attitude towards work hours, including evenings and weekends.
* Legal right to work in the UK and a valid driving licence.
