Job Overview
AXA Commercial is looking for an experienced Distribution Insurance Professional to lead the Distribution function in its Maidstone branch to maximise profit and growth. The role is part of the branch leadership team and is responsible for the success of the Maidstone distribution function and team, including sales and development of all customer accounts within the footprint.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the Distribution function in Maidstone to achieve branch targets and maximise income and profit.
* Serve as an active member of the branch leadership team.
* Lead the sales and distribution plan across the branch.
* Ensure the branch business plan drives long‑term partnerships and profitable growth.
* Deliver financial targets and sales competencies, including quote conversion.
* Plan, forecast, and manage the branch’s sales budget.
* Develop and coach Business Development Manager’s performance and personal development.
Work Arrangements
The role requires working at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Tasks include attending the office, visiting clients and industry events.
Your Skills & Experience
* Technical expertise across commercial insurances.
* Breadth and depth of relationships across the region.
* Leadership experience driving high‑performance teams.
* Track record of achieving financial and non‑financial KPIs.
* Capacity to work across functions and manage a team.
* Good understanding of underwriting and risk management principles.
* Ability to analyse and interpret data and adjust plans accordingly.
* Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance.
* Strong understanding of Commercial Broker markets.
* Ability to develop senior reciprocal relationships with intermediaries.
* Understanding profitability of business within the intermediary channel.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position is defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime, which means that in addition to pre‑employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every four years with an annual declaration in interim years.
