Can you help us deliver more high quality, specialist homes across Cheshire West, to ensure that the Borough's growth benefits all our residents?
Cheshire West and Chester Council is determined to tackle the unmet need for specialist housing in the Borough and has been delivering new homes for many years. But, with almost 460 units of specialist accommodation required by 2035, there is a need to increase the scale and pace of delivery and maximise the number of specialist homes coming forward. This will be achieved through direct delivery, and through joint ventures with our Registered Provider partners.
You will undertake a variety of duties to support delivery of the Council’s new specialist housing programme. The team lead on all aspects of development, and your role will be to support delivery of acquisition and new build projects, directly and through our partnerships.
To fulfil the Council’s strategic priorities, you will collaborate with funders, including Homes England and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), developers and partners, alongside Council colleagues.
If you have a passion for and experience of housing development, we welcome an application from you. You will also have demonstrable construction and project management experience, ideally linked to specialist housing projects. You will have a relevant professional qualification.
It would be beneficial for you to have relevant experience of working within a Local Authority, housing association, or other housing development role in a regulated environment. You will nevertheless have a thorough understanding of the policy context within which Local Authorities, housing associations and other developers operate, and how these policies impact on the delivery of housing.
If you feel this is the right opportunity for you, please contact Gavin Griffith - Strategic Housing Programme Manager at Gavin.Griffith@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk to schedule a conversation.
