Description
Red Bull Powertrains is offering an incredible opportunity for an Analysis CAD Engineer to join our team as we head into our first-ever racing season with a Red Bull designed power unit. You’ll be at the heart of our operation, developing and perfecting race-ready performance, playing a crucial role in delivering a power unit capable of competing at the sharp end of the 2026 Formula One grid.
Working within our Engineering Capabilities department you will be developing and maintaining robust NX-based models to improve and streamline the generation of simulation CAD geometry for CFD and FEA analysis. You will work with the Simulation and Design engineers to generate high-quality datasets, prepare CAD data, and identify and resolve reoccurring issues to reduce computational costs and enhance model accuracy.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Create simulation-specific geometry in NX, including:Defeatured solids and simplified representations for FE modelsEnsure geometry is simulation-ready, including watertight solids, consistent face/feature naming, clean topology suitable for meshing, and fluid volumes for CFDMidsurface and shell-ready modelsBuild and manage reference sets and arrangements to quickly deliver CFD- and FEA-ready CAD without duplicating models.
2. Building robust parametric NX CAD models coupled with simulation pipeline automation through scripting, for executing advanced design optimization and DoE studies supporting design space exploration by enabling fast regeneration of consistent geometry from expression-driven inputs.
3. Collaborate with Designers, CFD and FEA engineers to align NX modelling practices with solver and meshing requirements.
4. Define, apply, and maintain NX CAD standards for simulation workflows (layer usage, naming conventions, expression structure).
5. Create geometry cleanup utilities: Deliver solutions that enable rapid import of clean CAD data into simulation environments
6. Develop clash and clearance validation tools: Support virtual build and assembly feasibility checks to de-risk processes
7. Provide training and support: Act as a change champion by onboarding engineers to new tools and promoting best practice adoption
What we’re looking for:
8. Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
9. Strong understanding of CFD principles and workflows
10. Experience in scripting or automation for engineering applications (e.g., Python, VB.NET, C#)
11. Advanced Proficiency in Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM system:Modelling, Assemblies & Drafting fundamentalsStrong expertise in NX parametric modelling. Attention to detail to ensure robust, failure-resistant parametric models.Deep understanding of geometry defeaturing, abstraction, and simplification for analysis.Experience with NX journals and automation (e.g., Python, VB.NET, C#)Systems-level thinking with a focus on reuse and scalability.
At Red Bull Powertrains, we push the limits, fight for every victory, and get things done with relentless focus. Joining us means being part of a high-performance team that thrives on collaboration, trust, and ambition. We celebrate wins, learn from challenges, and take our work seriously—but not ourselves. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy:
12. Bonuses
13. Private healthcare
14. A pension scheme
15. On-site gym
16. Free daily food allowance
17. And many more!
Most importantly, you’ll play a key role in powering championship-winning cars. If you're ready to be part of something extraordinary, apply now and help shape the future of F1.
