Our client, a reputable commercial vehicle service provider based in Reading, Berkshire, is actively seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their dedicated team.

* Up to £23 per hour, depending on experience
* Rotating shifts: 6am – 2.30pm and 2.30pm – 11pm, Monday to Friday
* Overtime paid at x1.5 Monday to Saturday and x2.0 on Sundays and Bank Holidays

Duties as a HGV Technician:
* Conduct repairs and routine maintenance on HGVs according to manufacturer specifications
* Perform fault diagnosis using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
* Assist in road tests where HGV licences are held
* Ensure full compliance with warranty procedures and accurately record all work performed
* Support parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted
* Complete all necessary documentation, including job cards and service sheets following Volvo standards
* Report vehicle defects and maintain workshop facilities to high standards
* Support roadside breakdowns as required
* Contribute to the mentorship and training of new trainees and apprentices
Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician; experience with Volvo vehicles is advantageous but not essential
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills as a HGV Technician
* Proactive approach with excellent attention to safety and customer service
* Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
* Ability to work independently and within a team, adhering to health and safety policies
