We have an opportunity for a Lead Cloud Data & Technology Architect - Enterprise Data Platform to join our talented CIO team on a hybrid basis.
Your Role
This role will serve as the architecture and design governance lead for the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) at RSA UK. The successful candidate will maintain the EDP architecture blueprint, promote standardisation, interoperability, scalability, and ensure alignment with the broader enterprise data architecture (EDA).
You will act as a strategic thought partner across delivery squads, serving as a design authority in multi-disciplinary forums and influencing architecture decisions across core strategic programmes from the data office.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with proven hands-on experience in cloud-based modern data architecture (Azure or AWS), preferably within large, complex data environments. You should have an architectural understanding of data products, metadata management, data modelling (conceptual/logical), governance, data cataloguing, classification, and lineage.
The role requires excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of operating at both strategic and hands-on levels. You should have a track record of design ownership, including decision-making, documentation, and stakeholder alignment. You will have the authority to lead data pattern and solution development on the EDP, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and governance standards. Collaboration across data, engineering, and business teams is essential to ensure seamless data solution integration and usability.
You will drive design reviews, architecture spikes, and decision documentation, focusing on performance, reusability, extensibility, and interoperability. Mentoring and guiding delivery teams in architecture implementation aligned with business needs and technical best practices will also be part of your responsibilities.
