Job Description
Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for Project Managers to join our Life Science Real Estate team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading client base in and around central London, with immediate commissions available. You will be part of a professional and ambitious team, receiving excellent support, and contributing to responding to our client’s Project and Programme management objectives.
Responsibilities
1. Develop project plans including programmes, budgets, and coordinate scheduling and milestones to ensure projects remain on track.
2. Oversee the project budget, including cost estimation, reviewing, and approval of payment applications from contractors and designers.
3. Lead and supervise the project team, including contractors, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
4. Identify potential project risks, issues, and dependencies, including safety, legal, financial, and environmental factors, managing risk scoring and mitigation strategies.
5. Act as the primary contact for clients, stakeholders, and external contractors, providing regular updates on project progress and concerns.
6. Manage procurement processes for designers and principal contractors for projects of various sizes and scales.
7. Manage contracts with contractors, overseeing negotiations, execution, and enforcement to ensure all terms are met.
8. Supervise on-site construction management, commissioning, validation, project close-out, and capitalisation processes.
9. Complete monthly project reports for programme directors.
Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management.
* Ideally NEC accredited Project Manager.
* Member of a chartered institute such as RICS or willing to work towards this.
* Good knowledge of construction industry themes like MMC, Net Zero Carbon, and Digital agenda.
* Understanding of the full project lifecycle and business case approvals process.
* Experience working on science-based projects in complex live environments is desirable.
Experience
* Approximately 5 years of experience in delivering life sciences projects.
* Experience in strategic estate development and capital project planning is desirable.
* Experience with NEC contract administration is desirable.
* Proven ability to develop stakeholder relationships and drive project progression in client-facing roles at all levels.
