Design Engineer
You will take ownership of complex electro-mechanical integration where your design decisions directly shape the next generation of maritime defence systems. This role offers the autonomy to define the technical standards and software tools that will drive the engineering function forward.
Must-have eligibility
* British nationality, due to defence industry hiring restrictions
* Professional experience in 2D and 3D CAD design

What you will work on
* Develop integrated electrical and mechanical design concepts from first principles for maritime systems.
* Lead the design of electrical enclosures and control panels while ensuring strict compliance with manufacturing techniques.
* Take responsibility for refining rough mechanical designs into precise production-ready drawing outputs.
* Influence the future of the department by assisting in the selection and adoption of new design software.
Skills and experience
* Expert proficiency in AutoCAD or other specialist CAD packages.
* Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations including BS7671 18th edition.
* Familiarity with BS8888 2017 and ISO drawing standards.
* Ability to solve complex engineering problems and meet tight deadlines.
