We are seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join our friendly Terrestrial Ecology team in South Wales or the Midlands. This hybrid role involves home, office, and site-based work across South Midlands and South Wales regions, including Carmarthenshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and Oxfordshire.
In this role, you will supervise terrestrial ecology fieldwork, manage your own projects, write ecological reports, liaise with clients, contribute to tenders, and carry out Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) duties. You will be supported by APEM’s expertise in ecology, hydrology, and water quality to develop your consultancy career.
To Be Successful, You Need:
* A relevant degree in ecology or a related field
* Qualifying or Associate Membership of CIEEM (or eligibility)
* Experience with Phase 1 or UKHab surveys and protected species work
* Understanding of UK environmental and wildlife legislation
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A full UK driving license and willingness to travel
Desirable Skills:
* Protected species licenses
* Botanical ID or NVC experience
* GIS proficiency
* Experience with bat analysis tools
* Client-facing experience and ECoW duties
