This position is for a new opening in Ilkeston. We plan to open on the 20th February 2026.
We will be opening a Cafe Bar in Ilkeston, a place that is busy and hustling in the day with Barista style coffee, speciality teas and delicious cakes and savoury items. In the evening the lightening will change and turn into a cool Spanish inspired Cocktail / Wine Bar.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our vibrant hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for exceptional service, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team, ensure high standards of hospitality, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with previous supervisory experience in restaurant or hotel environments.
Duties
* Supervise front-of-house staff, including servers and hosts, ensuring smooth daily operations
* Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold brand standards
* Oversee food preparation and serving processes, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations
* Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow to optimise efficiency
* Assist with food production activities when necessary, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
* Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the front-of-house area in compliance with health and safety standards
* Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and courteously
* Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and overall guest satisfaction
* Train new team members on service procedures, safety protocols, and company policies
Qualifications
* Proven experience in supervising within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
* Experience in food service roles such as serving or barista work is advantageous
* Familiarity with food production processes and kitchen operations
* Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
* Good communication skills in British English; confident in handling guest interactions professionally
* Previous experience in hospitality management or supervisory roles is preferred but not essential for highly motivated candidates with relevant background knowledge

Pay: £13.00-£15.50 per hour
