Overview
BAM FM is recruiting a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join the team based out of our Stepps offices and covering the central belt in Scotland. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the role is responsible for building maintenance across several sites. Working 40 hours per week, 8.00am - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday.
Your mission
The role requires you to work directly with other operatives, clients, subcontractors and colleagues, exercising excellent teamwork and building positive relationships.
Responsibilities
* Undertaking Planned Preventative Maintenance and completing the appropriate paperwork and reports.
* Undertaking reactive and emergency breakdown tasks, including completion of the associated paperwork.
* Working in partnership with the Helpdesk to ensure resources are allocated correctly.
* Being part of a team on a call-out rota to provide the client with full out-of-hours cover.
* Assisting the team when required or as directed by the Contract Manager.
* Ensuring that all tasks are completed within contractual time scales and that works are audited where required.
* Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
* Adopting a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the BAM FM portfolio.
* Carrying out duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Understanding and completing all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
* Undertaking additional duties in line with capabilities as required.
Compliance
* Complying with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Caring out work in a safe and diligent manner.
* Ensuring detailed records are created for statutory testing, inspections and record keeping.
* Implementing Health and Safety, quality and environmental system requirements ensuring compliance with legislation and BAM FM policy.
What we are looking for
The suitable engineer must be committed and have a proven track record. We are looking for a commercial gas engineer who may also hold domestic qualifications; domestic qualifications are not essential as training will be provided. The engineer must be able to work on their own initiative and be able to assist other engineers and work as part of a team.
* Experience of electrical/mechanical maintenance, testing & fault finding on equipment including plumbing, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps (beneficial).
* Experience of working within a mobile service delivery contract.
* Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), service targets and objectives and KPI’s, and ability to interpret management information.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Supervisory management experience (desirable).
* Able to anticipate and diagnose and repair faults.
* Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
* Competent in using electronic devices (Knowledge of Concept desirable).
* PVG disclosure for Scotland is applicable for this type of work; CRB check will be required.
