Job Description: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and professional Team Leader to join Alvest Equipment Services (UK) Ltd, based in Kempston, Bedford. You will be part of a well-established and respected technical service team, supporting world-class power-related electronic equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Aviation Ground Power Units and associated equipment. This is a fast-paced and demanding role requiring resilience, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dedicated team. Reporting to the Legacy Manager, the role involves a combination of site-based, workshop, and office responsibilities. · Represen t Alvest Equipment Services professionally when attending customer sites · Comply with all AES and customer health and safety regulations · Prepare for site visits, ensuring all RAMS documentation is completed and customer requirements are fully understood and met · Diagnose and resolve faults using technical expertise and diagnostic tools · Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in line with service level agreements, maintaining strong working relationships · Maintain workshop standards, ensuring a clean, safe, and organised working environment · Inspect, test, and sign off all repaired units both in the workshop and on customer sites · Ensure all engineers operate in accordance with AES safety standards · Take responsibility for stock control, including cycle counts and accurate inventory management · Conduct and complete monthly site/workshop inspections, reporting findings to the Legacy Manager · Ensure accurate and timely completion of service reports, expenses, and associated documentation Required profile · NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (preferably via a formal apprenticeship) · A recognised Level 3 Electrical Testing and Inspection qualification (e.g. C&G 2391, 2391-10, or C&G 2394/2395) · Full UK Driving Licence · Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings · Proficiency in the use of electrical testing equipment · Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a similar role, with strong knowledge of Aviation Ground Power Units and Ground Support Equipment · Ability to work independently and take ownership of electrical tasks · Eligibility to obtain military and airside security clearance (including a clean 5-year employment and reference history) · Willingness to travel, including working away from home and occasional overseas assignments · Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude · Strong work ethic with a proactive, can-do approach
