York Hospital Elderly and Community Teams are looking for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to take on the role of Advanced Clinical Specialist.
Based at York, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting integrated pathways across acute inpatient, outpatient and community services. You will be providing clinical leadership and expertise in relation to frailty as well as driving service developments, quality improvements and outcomes in relation to the service.
This is a pivotal role for a clinician who can provide highly specialist assessment, treatment, and leadership for patients with complex physical, cognitive, psychological, behavioural, and social needs. Key Responsibilities
* Managing a highly complex clinical caseload using advanced clinical reasoning and occupation‑focused assessment.
* Leading specialist practice in frailty, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence‑based care.
* Acting as a resource for highly specialist advice across the Trust.
* Providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to staff and students.
* Driving service development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Contributing to research, audit, and evaluation activities.
* Communicating complex and sensitive information with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
* Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across organisational boundaries.
