Job Title: Production / Factory Manager
Location: Cheddar, Somerset
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary: Up to £45, PA DOE

As a Production Manager, you will oversee:
Operations & Production
6. Oversee production, bottling, colourant, packing, and dispatch areas.
7. Manage production schedules, batch sheets, and stock levels.
8. Ensure efficient order processing and timely dispatch.
Stock & Supply Chain
9. Control raw material and finished goods inventory.
10. Set and maintain reorder levels; conduct annual stock checks.
11. Work with ERP systems (e.g.Sage 50) for BOM, stock, and purchase orders.
12. Negotiate with suppliers and couriers for pricing and service.
Quality & Compliance
13. Maintain quality standards for raw materials and finished goods.
14. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
15. Manage waste and recycling processes.
Maintenance & Premises
16. Oversee repairs, servicing, and maintenance of equipment and building.
17. Ensure premises are safe, secure, and operational.
HR & Staff Management
18. Manage attendance, holidays, and sickness.
19. Conduct staff appraisals and wage reviews.
20. Support mental health awareness and disciplinary processes.
Administration & Reporting
21. Maintain production and bottling records.
22. Prepare budgets and forecasts for raw materials.
23. Monitor and adjust minimum order quantities.
Additional Duties
24. Fire safety management (drills, equipment checks).
25. Forklift compliance (LOLER checks, servicing).
26. Customer collaboration for product specifications.
27. Cross-department communication with Accounts, Marketing, Sales, and MD.
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
28. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
29. Strong leadership and team management skills
30. Knowledge of health and safety regulations
31. Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Sage 50
32. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
33. Background in supply chain management
34. Familiarity with quality assurance processes
35. Ability to negotiate with suppliers and couriers
