Overview
Production Supervisor role at NC SAVE$ ENERGY in Stockport. This position leads and supervises manufacturing teams to safely ensure on-time delivery of finished products at the correct quality and cost. The role champions continuous improvement across all activities and areas of responsibility.
Salary: around £50K plus strong career prospects and benefits. Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00–15:30, Friday 07:00–12:00.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise manufacturing teams (Welders, Fabricators, Mechanical and Electrical Fitters) to meet product cost, quality and delivery targets.
* Ensure adherence to Company Health, Environmental and Safety policies and lead SHE activities in the area.
* Develop and implement manufacturing schedules and recovery plans; monitor and report KPIs.
* Deploy resources effectively and redeploy them as needed across business units.
* Manage absence and welfare; ensure timely R-T-Ws (within 24 hours of return).
* Support team competency, training, and attendance of training courses to meet targets.
* Prepare daily reporting of primary business measures and maintain local KPIs (SQCDP).
* Ensure Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing Procedures are followed; address any escapes.
* Lead start and end of shift briefs and communicate key business topics to the workforce.
* Oversee workplace environment audits and maintain visitor-ready standards.
Qualifications
* Heavy industry manufacturing experience.
* HND / Degree in manufacturing or engineering.
* Substantial experience in a manufacturing/production supervisor role.
* IOSH / NEBOSH or other health and safety qualification.
* Leadership of manufacturing teams in aerospace, automotive or similar mechanical engineering.
* Experience leading and implementing manufacturing schedules and recovery plans.
* Project reporting experience with KPI definition and collation.
* Working knowledge of SAP (or similar ERP) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
* Ability to manage manufacturing environments safely and identify/mitigate risks.
* Resource planning and competence management; completion of employee performance reviews.
* Experience with equipment maintenance and PM planning.
