Healthcare Assistant - Ward 28
Band 3
Ward 28 is seeking an experienced Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our team. Ward 28 is a busy elective Head and Neck regional unit with 25 beds at Aintree University Hospital, caring for pre- and post-operative patients.
The successful candidate should be highly motivated, possess good interpersonal skills, and be able to work under pressure and within a team. A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of care is essential.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will assist the Ward/Department team in delivering the highest standard of patient care. Your duties will include a range of delegated tasks, clinical and non-clinical, with training provided to develop necessary skills.
As a Band 3 HCA, you will be responsible for providing high standards of care, supporting nursing staff with clinical duties, and supervising junior staff to uphold care standards.
Flexibility to work days and nights is required to meet the ward's staffing needs.

Key responsibilities include:
* Participating in all aspects of patient care, focusing on hygiene and grooming.
* Providing toileting support, ensuring privacy and dignity.
* Supporting continence management and recording fluid intake/output.
* Assisting with meals, drinks, and feeding as needed.
* Promoting mobility and using mobility aids.
* Preventing pressure sores in conjunction with care plans.
* Performing safe manual handling and movement tasks.
* Collecting specimens for testing.
* Removing cannulas and catheters.
* Undertaking dressing of non-complex wounds.
Patient safety must always be maintained.
