Pastoral Support / Student Wellbeing Co‑ordinator

37.5 hours per week, 37.6 weeks per year (term time only). Monday to Friday: 8:00‑16:00. Pay range: PS7 (£33,813 to £36,041 FTE). Pro‑rata starting salary £29,466. Start date: 3 September 2026.


Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Student Wellbeing Co‑ordinator to support students in improving behaviour, engagement with school life, attendance, and overall pastoral care. The role involves working proactively with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Year, pastoral staff, and teaching staff to create a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include engaging with external services and professionals to support vulnerable children, and acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Deputy DSL). The Deputy DSL works closely with the DSL to manage safeguarding across the school, serving as the main contact for students, parents, and external agencies.


Responsibilities

* Support students in improving behaviour and engagement with learning and school life.
* Promote a positive learning environment by addressing students’ needs and concerns.
* Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Year, pastoral staff, and teaching staff.
* Engage external services and professionals to support vulnerable children.
* Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, working with the DSL to manage safeguarding effectively.
* Serve as the main point of contact for students, parents, and external agencies regarding safeguarding matters.
