Maintenance Engineer - Electrical
Location: Birmingham
Day Shift
This market leading engineering company is recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Birmingham. The company manufactures and supplies a range of specialist products to various industries across the globe.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional engineering & maintenance support through application of appropriate expertise, knowledge, and experience.
* Prepare design calculations in accordance with relevant standards and legislation, adopting standard formats and procedures.
* Focus on the financial aspects of contracts including final project valuations, preparation of project briefs, material, and presentations to clients.
* Ensure improvements in reliability.
* Perform Root Cause Analyses (RCA) of issues.
* Support, mentor, and provide guidance to area maintenance personnel.
* Plan and monitor activities during planned downtime.
Qualifications & Experience
* HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
* Experience or strong desire to work within a manufacturing/production environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels
* Leadership experience is desirable
* Technical knowledge within heavy engineering and fast-paced production environments
Additional Skills & Expectations
* Understand Electrical Principles and Process Control; mechanical understanding is advantageous
* Understand EHS aspects of engineering, including CDM, HAZOP, and contractor control
* Project manage engineering installations with appropriate planning and budget management
* Assist in improving Plant and equipment uptime
* Review tender documents from third-party suppliers
* Manage budgets of projects and ensure completion of documentation and project files
* Ability to review and critically analyze engineering drawings and follow drawing office filing systems
* Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Word and internal systems)
* Capable of supervising contractors and on-site personnel during installation
* Ability to lead teams and support area maintenance teams with issues and breakdowns
* Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
