Job Opportunity: Lecturer at Kingston College

The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a dynamic lecturer responsible for group tutorship within the Travel & Aviation curriculum. This may include units in Travel & Tourism, hospitality, and aviation/cabin crew. The role involves teaching across various courses and levels, including BTEC, NCFE, Levels 1, 2, 3, and contributing to quality improvements under the guidance of the Head of Section and/or Head of School.
The courses are primarily coursework-based. We seek an innovative practitioner to design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners. The role requires following schemes of work, assessment schedules, and student monitoring procedures. The post also involves internal verification activities and participation in external verification processes.
Candidates should hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, possess a teaching qualification (or be willing to attain one), and have recent relevant professional development. Extensive teaching experience with BTEC and/or NCFE programmes, awareness of academic quality standards, and connections with industry and external agencies are essential. The ideal candidate will have energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for education.
You should be able to support, motivate, and empathize with learners, monitor their progress, and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives. Creativity in problem-solving and proficiency in using new technologies to enhance learning are important. High personal standards, excellent planning, organizational, and administrative skills, along with attention to detail, are required.
The successful candidate will be eligible for salary increases based on the annual cost of living review for the new academic year.
