About The Role
We’re seeking a proactive Health & Safety Support professional for our Barton-Upon-Humber manufacturing site, working Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:30. The role supports implementation of Safety, Health & Environment systems and ensures effective contractor control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and review Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures, COSHH, and Manual Handling (MAC)
2. Review/approve contractor RAMS; verify competency, certifications, and licences
3. Coordinate contractors, ensuring compliance with site rules, CDM Regulations, and legislation
4. Deliver site inductions for contractors/visitors and ensure safety understanding
5. Manage Permits to Work (PTW), including high-risk tasks
6. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and behavioural observations
7. Promote a positive safety culture and challenge unsafe behaviours
8. Investigate incidents/near misses, identify root causes, and implement actions
9. Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO 14001/45001, and UK H&S laws
10. Monitor performance and support reporting and continuous improvement
About You
Skills and Knowledge:
11. IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) - essential
12. NEBOSH General Certificate – desirable
13. Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g. 45001) – desirable
14. Understanding of contractor management and CDM Regulations
15. Manufacturing/machinery knowledge - advantageous
16. Strong communication and influencing skills
17. Good organisation; able to manage priorities and deadlines
18. Analytical problem-solving and investigation skills
19. Able to work independently and in teams
20. Experience in diverse environments
21. Proficient in Microsoft Office
