Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently. This role supports preventive maintenance efforts, responds to breakdowns, and works closely with operations to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on industrial equipment
2. Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production quickly and safely
3. Complete preventive and predictive maintenance tasks per PM schedules
4. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
5. Install, align, and test motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and related equipment
6. Perform basic PLC troubleshooting (inputs/outputs, sensors, fault codes)
7. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
8. Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety, and plant procedures
9. Assist with equipment upgrades, shutdowns, and new installations
10. Communicate issues and recommendations to supervisors and operators
Required Qualifications
11. High school diploma or GED
12. 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience (manufacturing preferred)
13. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
14. Experience with motors, drives, bearings, belts, chains, and gear reducers
15. Basic understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
17. Technical degree or trade school certification
18. Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
19. Welding or fabrication experience
20. CMMS experience
21. OSHA or safety training
Physical Requirements
22. Ability to lift up to lbs
23. Stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
24. Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
Work Environment
25. Manufacturing/industrial setting
26. Exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery
27. PPE required
