Job Title: Sales Manager - Reserve and Renewables (R&R)


Reports to: General Sales Manager - Reserve and Renewables (R&R)


Job Purpose

Reporting to the General Sales Manager - Reserve & Renewables, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across the company’s reserve battery portfolio. The role focuses on developing and managing national and key accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities across the UPS, Telecoms, Emergency Power and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) markets.

This position requires a commercially astute sales professional with strong technical understanding, capable of taking the reserve battery range and associated services to market across the UK and Ireland, working with OEMs, distributors, service providers, and installers.


Sales & Business Development

* Manage sales of reserve batteries and accessories into national and key accounts across the UK and Ireland.
* Identify, target and develop new business opportunities within existing and emerging market sectors.
* Devise and implement structured sales strategies to drive sustainable growth across assigned channels.
* Actively manage the sales pipeline, forecasts, and customer opportunities to exceed agreed targets.


Account Management & Commercial Responsibility

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring long-term retention and growth.
* Manage all central commercial negotiations with national and key accounts.
* Lead all RFQ and ITT activity relating to reserve battery solutions.
* Be commercially aware of the trading position and proactively identify opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.


Market & Product Expertise

* Maintain a strong understanding of market channels, competitors, and customer requirements.
* Deliver product and commercial presentations to both existing and prospective customers.
* Maintain up-to-date product knowledge across the company portfolio and attend training where required.


Analysis, Reporting & Planning

* Analyse sales performance, trends, customer behaviour, and product mix to identify opportunities and risks.
* Provide monthly sales reports, customer performance analysis, and forward activity plans.
* Use CRM and internal systems effectively to support data accuracy and decision-making.
* Act as a senior member of the sales team, liaising closely with sales, operations, and customer service teams.
* Work collaboratively with customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and effective issue resolution.
* Represent the company professionally at exhibitions, networking events, and industry forums.


Travel & Networking

* Regular UK and Ireland travel is required, including overnight stays.
* Occasional overseas travel may be required.
* Attendance at exhibitions and industry events, including some evening commitments.


Additional Responsibilities

Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.


Skills, Knowledge & Personal Attributes

* Proven experience as a senior sales professional within the reserve battery / UPS / power solutions market.
* Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to gather and interpret market and competitor intelligence.
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation, influencing, and closing skills.
* Highly motivated, target-driven, and capable of working autonomously.
* Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
* Clear, confident communicator and presenter.
* High level of numeracy with the ability to analyse and interpret sales data.
* Well organised, with excellent planning and time management skills.
* Full UK driving licence required.


Experience and Qualifications

* Degree-level education or equivalent experience (electrical engineering or related discipline desirable).
* Demonstrated and measurable success in a field-based sales role.
* Strong understanding of reserve industry channels and customer types.
* PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
